International street musicians offering a huge variety of different styles and performances, will be playing from Thursday, May 22 to Saturday, May 24 2008. The artists will present their programmes in a rotating system on 10 different stages.
All festival participants receive a small appearance fee as well as the busking money they are given to by the audience. Furthermore, the musicians receive vouchers for food and beverages which can be used anywhere on the festival grounds. The Musicians have the option to sleep in the youth hostel for free. Musicians from a foreign country receive small travel cost subsidies.
Competition
The sympathy of the audience is the decisive factor. Every visitor receives a voting card, with which he/she can vote for his/her favourite musician.
At the end of the festival the three musicians who got most of the votes receive attractive prize money and will play at the laureate concert of the Sparda-Bank Stuttgart. The presence of the media guarantees wide publicity for the festival and the musicians who take part.
- The musicians play on 10 stages several times in rotation
- The festival programme runs Thursday to Saturday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- Appearance fee/busking money: all participating musicians receive a small appearance fee and can keep their busking money
- All musicians travelling to Ludwigsburg from a foreign country receive a small travel cost subsidy
- Prize money: at the end of the festival an audience prize is awarded. The three musicians getting the most votes by the end of the festival win:
1st prize 1.000,- Euro, 2nd prize 750,- Euro, 3rd prize 500,- Euro
- Food and beverages: every day, the artists receive vouchers for food and beverages on the festival grounds
- The 3 winners and a special guest receive an invitation to participate in the laureate concert
